A common misconception when it comes to Landmark Capital is that we want you to invest all of your money in gold. This has never been our philosophy and for the most part we actually don’t recommend it. At Landmark Capital we are only suggesting diversification of your investment portfolio. Diversification 101
So what does it mean to diversify your investment portfolio? The very definition of diversification means to show a great deal of variety. It means to make sure that not all of your eggs are in one basket so to speak. If you’ve got 100 percent of your money in stocks and the stock market takes a hit like it did in 2008, you are in for a rollercoaster ride my friend. That is why we believe in spreading out your money into different avenues.
The Landmark Approach
At Landmark Capital, we believe in a more European approach to investment. Which is 25/25/25/25 or having 25% of your investments in each of our four categories. Twenty-five in real estate, twenty-five in cash, twenty-five in stocks, bonds and mutual funds, and twenty-five in precious metals. This type of investing protects you from the volatility of the stock market and is a hedge of protection from inflation.
How Do I Spend It?
So how do I use precious metals at the grocery store or at the gas station? This a question that comes up often when it comes to gold and silver. The truth is it’s just like a stock. If you take your stock certificate to the grocery store, the grocer will look at you like you are crazy. Like we pointed out earlier gold and silver is not money, it is a hedge against the money system. We believe that it is important to protect yourself from the instability of some of the other options with something that is more consistent.
