Steffan Tubbs
Steffan Tubbs is host of The Steffan Tubbs Show on 710KNUS in Denver 3-7PM weekdays. He also hosts The American Veteran Show on 710KNUS. Steffan has nearly three decades of news experience, he returned to Denver in 2005 from WNYW-TV FOX 5 in New York, where he was a reporter/anchor. Before joining FOX 5, he spent six years as a network correspondent for ABC News in Los Angeles.
Steffan is founder of Mountain Time Media and documentarian of DROUGHTLAND, LIFE, LIBERTY AND RESILIENCE, ACRONYM, 25 STEPS, ETHAN'S REACH and DENVER IN DECAY.Steffan is also the author of LIFE, LIBERTY AND RESILIENCE, the moving story of an African-American man who served in a segregated military during World War II. His second book, THEY SAID, THEY SAID reports and explores the war of words between rivaling families in a Colorado death.
Domestically, Steffan has covered the Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11 from Ground Zero, the Columbine and Virginia Tech killings, the Aurora theatre shootings, multiple national political conventions and the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. His breaking news coverage has won him national recognition in on-scene reporting from wildfires, floods, tornadoes and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina refugees. He's been privileged to cover multiple World Series and Super Bowls, along with the Stanley Cup and NBA Finals.
A four-time winner of the Edward R. Murrow award for national reporting, Steffan has covered national politics and is a frequent contributor to the Fox News Channel. Internationally, he has spent time in the Middle East covering Bethlehem and Jerusalem, Pope John Paul II, and overseas assignments in Kuwait, Iraq, Japan and Australia. In 2006 and in 2010, Steffan was embedded in Iraq with members of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division and soldiers from Ft. Carson.
Steffan is a proud supporter of our military and in both 2010 and 2012, he had the honor of taking WWII veterans back to the island of Iwo Jima. In 2011, Tubbs traveled with WWII veterans to Normandy, France to commemorate the D-Day anniversary and on multiple occasions he has traveled to Hawaii with Pearl Harbor survivors to commemorate the attack of December 7, 1941. He ends his show daily by reminding us to Remember Our Troops.
